A refreshing and fruity Strawberry Boba Tea recipe that combines the sweetness of fresh strawberries with the chewiness of tapioca pearls and the bold flavor of black tea. Perfect for a quick homemade bubble tea treat with a creamy yet fruity twist.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 2 black tea bags (can use green tea if you prefer)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (can use white sugar or honey)

Milk & Fruit

  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1.5-2 cups strawberries, stems removed

Boba & Serving

  • 1/2 cup tapioca pearls (quick cook 5 minute boba)
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Steep the Tea: Bring the water to a boil and add the tea bags. Steep for 5-6 minutes to extract rich flavor, then remove from heat and discard the tea bags.
  2. Chill the Tea: Place the brewed tea in the refrigerator to cool while you prepare the boba and strawberries.
  3. Cook Tapioca Pearls: Boil the tapioca pearls following the package instructions, typically about 5 minutes until they float. Drain and transfer them immediately to an ice bath or a bowl of cold water to cool and prevent sticking.
  4. Blend Ingredients: In a blender or using an immersion blender, combine the chilled tea, brown sugar, milk, and strawberries. Blend until smooth. Taste and add an additional tablespoon of sugar or honey if desired for sweetness.
  5. Assemble the Drink: Divide the tapioca pearls evenly into two glasses. Add ice to the glasses and pour the blended strawberry tea over the top. Serve immediately with wide straws for the boba pearls.

Notes

  • Use quick-cook tapioca pearls to reduce prep time.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar or honey according to your preference.
  • Green tea can be substituted for black tea for a lighter flavor.
  • If strawberries are out of season, frozen strawberries can be used instead.
  • Milk of any kind works, including dairy and plant-based options like almond, oat, or coconut milk.
