Ingredients

Chicken Wings

  • 2 lbs. chicken wings (or drummettes)
  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil

Sticky Ginger Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp chili garlic sauce
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger (grated)

Garnish

  • 2 green onions (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare wings: Preheat your oven to 400ºF. Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer in a glass or ceramic baking dish. Drizzle with cooking oil, then toss the wings thoroughly to ensure they are evenly coated.
  2. Make the sticky ginger sauce: While the wings bake for 15 minutes, combine honey, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, toasted sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated fresh ginger in a bowl. Stir well to blend all the flavors together.
  3. Coat wings with sauce and continue baking: After the initial 15 minutes of baking, pour the prepared sauce over the wings. Toss to coat the wings evenly. Return the wings to the oven and bake for an additional 45 minutes. Stir the wings every 15 minutes during this time to help the sauce thicken and form a deep, sticky glaze. Monitor closely near the end to avoid burning.
  4. Garnish and serve: Once the sauce is thick and glossy, remove the wings from the oven. Sprinkle the sliced green onions over the top for a fresh contrast and extra flavor. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy your sticky ginger chicken wings!
