A refreshing and naturally sweetened Peach Lemonade made by simmering fresh peaches in a honey simple syrup, combined with freshly squeezed lemon juice and water, perfect for a cool, fruity summer drink.

Ingredients

For the Honey Simple Syrup and Peach Base

  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1 cup water (for syrup)
  • 3 heaping cups chopped peaches (from 4-5 medium peaches)
  • Additional 4 cups water

For the Lemonade

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 5-6 lemons)
  • Sliced peaches and/or lemon wheels (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the honey simple syrup: In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the honey with 1 cup of water. Stir continuously until the honey dissolves completely, then reduce the heat to medium to prepare for stewing the peaches.
  2. Stew the peaches: Add the chopped peaches to the saucepan. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Use the back of a wooden spoon to mash the peaches, releasing their juices and blending flavors.
  3. Cool the mixture: Remove the pan from heat and allow the peach syrup to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a clean mixing glass to remove solids.
  4. Mix and serve: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled peach honey syrup with freshly squeezed lemon juice and the remaining 4 cups of water. Stir gently to mix. Serve the peach lemonade over ice, garnished with sliced peaches and lemon wheels for a beautiful presentation.

Notes

  • Use ripe peaches for the best natural sweetness and flavor.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of honey depending on your taste preference.
  • For a chilled beverage, refrigerate the lemonade for at least an hour before serving.
  • This recipe yields 8 servings, ideal for a small gathering or family refreshment.
  • Straining removes pulp but can be skipped if a more rustic, textured drink is preferred.
