This refreshing Iced Orange Ginger Green Tea is an invigorating blend of organic green tea, fresh orange and lemon juices, and the zing of grated ginger, sweetened naturally with honey. Perfect for a revitalizing cold beverage on warm days, this drink combines the antioxidant benefits of green tea with citrusy freshness and a spicy kick.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 5 organic green tea bags
  • 2 tablespoons ginger, finely grated or minced

Sweetener

  • 3-4 tablespoons honey (add more to taste)

Citrus Juices

  • 2 cups fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice

Garnish

  • Mint leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat Water and Steep Tea: Heat 4 cups of water to a good simmer, just below boiling. Turn off the heat and add 5 organic green tea bags to the hot water.
  2. Add Ginger: Add 2 tablespoons of finely grated or minced ginger to the pot and let the tea steep for 2-3 minutes to infuse the flavors.
  3. Strain the Tea: Once the tea has cooled somewhat, strain the mixture through a fine strainer into a pitcher to remove the tea bags and ginger bits.
  4. Sweeten the Tea: Stir in 3-4 tablespoons of honey while the tea is still slightly warm, adjusting sweetness to your taste preference.
  5. Add Citrus Juices: Pour in 2 cups of fresh orange juice and 1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice into the tea and stir thoroughly to blend the flavors.
  6. Chill and Serve: Serve the tea chilled over ice for a refreshing experience.
  7. Garnish: Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves to add an aromatic touch.

Notes

  • Use organic green tea bags for the best flavor and health benefits.
  • Adjust the amount of honey for desired sweetness or substitute with a natural sweetener of choice.
  • Freshly squeezed orange and lemon juice provide the best citrus flavor; bottled juice may alter the taste.
  • The ginger adds a spicy kick but can be reduced or omitted for a milder flavor.
  • For an extra refreshing twist, refrigerate the tea for at least one hour before serving.
  • Serve with additional ice if desired, especially on hot days.
