A quick and flavorful Garlic Butter Pasta made with angel hair pasta cooked in chicken broth, then tossed in a fragrant garlic butter sauce with Italian seasoning. This simple yet delicious dish is perfect for a comforting weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 8 ounces angel hair pasta
  • 4 cups chicken broth

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic (about 3 cloves)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt (more to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon pepper (more to taste)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Cook the angel hair pasta in 4 cups of chicken broth according to the package instructions, making sure to cook it al dente. Avoid overcooking as the pasta will continue cooking in the sauce.
  2. Reserve broth and drain pasta: Drain the cooked pasta, reserving ¼ cup of the broth for the sauce, then set the pasta aside.
  3. Melt the butter and sauté garlic: In the same pot, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about one minute until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Prepare the sauce: Whisk in the reserved broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the melted butter and garlic mixture.
  5. Combine pasta and sauce: Add the cooked angel hair pasta into the sauce, stirring well to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
  6. Cook to thicken sauce: Continue cooking the pasta in the sauce, stirring continuously, until the noodles absorb the liquid and the sauce thickens slightly, about 3 minutes.
  7. Serve: Remove the pot from heat and serve the garlic butter pasta immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Be careful not to overcook the angel hair pasta during the initial boiling as it will soften further when cooked in the sauce.
  • Adjust salt and pepper to taste depending on your preference.
  • You can add freshly grated Parmesan cheese for a richer flavor if desired.
  • For a vegetarian version, substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth.
  • Serve with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a balanced meal.
