A refreshing and nutritious layered smoothie featuring blueberries and mangoes with creamy Greek yogurt, chia seeds, and banana, perfect for a healthy breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Blueberry Layer

  • 2 cups frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 medium banana
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or vanilla Greek yogurt)
  • 1-2 teaspoons chia seeds
  • 2/3 cup milk (or enough to thin)

Mango Layer

  • 2 cups frozen mangoes
  • 1/2 medium banana
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or vanilla Greek yogurt)
  • 1-2 teaspoons chia seeds
  • 2/3 cup milk (or enough to thin)

Instructions

  1. Make the blueberry layer. Combine the frozen blueberries, half a banana, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, and milk in a blender. Blend well until smooth to create a thick blueberry smoothie base.
  2. Add to two glasses. Pour the blueberry smoothie evenly into two glasses or mason jars, filling each halfway. Rinse the blender thoroughly to prepare for the next layer.
  3. Make the mango layer. In the clean blender, combine frozen mangoes, the remaining half banana, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, and milk. Blend well until smooth to form the mango smoothie layer.
  4. Add the next layer. Gently pour the mango smoothie on top of the blueberry layer in each glass to create a beautiful two-tone effect.
  5. Serve. Garnish with fresh blueberries or mango chunks if desired, and serve immediately with glass straws for a stylish presentation.

Notes

  • You can adjust the milk amount to achieve your preferred smoothie thickness.
  • Vanilla Greek yogurt adds a touch of sweetness but plain yogurt works well too.
  • Chia seeds add fiber and omega-3 fatty acids while slightly thickening the smoothie.
  • For a vegan option, substitute Greek yogurt with a plant-based yogurt and use a non-dairy milk.
  • To enhance flavor, optionally add a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup before blending.
