This refreshing Strawberry Frozen Greek Yogurt is a creamy, tangy, and naturally sweetened dessert perfect for a healthy treat. Featuring full-fat Greek yogurt blended with fresh or frozen strawberries, orange juice, and vanilla, this recipe can be made with or without additional sweetener and is easily frozen to achieve a scoopable consistency.

Ingredients

Fruits

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen or fresh strawberries
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (about 1 large navel orange)

Dairy

  • 3 cups full-fat Greek yogurt (Honey or plain)

Flavorings

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Sweeteners (optional)

  • Sweetener, to taste (e.g., honey, sugar, or agave syrup)

Instructions

  1. Thaw Strawberries: If using frozen strawberries, microwave them for about 40 seconds to soften slightly for easier blending.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Combine strawberries, Greek yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, and vanilla extract in a blender or food processor. Blend thoroughly until smooth and creamy.
  3. Taste and Sweeten: If the yogurt is already sweetened, taste the mixture and decide if additional sweetener is needed. If unsweetened, add sweetener one tablespoon at a time, blending and tasting until desired sweetness is achieved.
  4. Freeze in Ice Cream Machine: Pour the blended mixture into a prepared ice cream machine and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually until it thickens to a soft-serve consistency.
  5. Firm Up (Optional): Enjoy immediately for a soft texture, or transfer the frozen yogurt to a shallow freezer-safe dish covered with a lid or plastic wrap. Freeze for a few hours to firm up for easier scooping.
  6. Serve: If frozen solid, allow frozen yogurt to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before scooping to soften slightly.

Notes

  • Use full-fat Greek yogurt for best creaminess and texture.
  • Adjust sweetness based on your preference and whether your yogurt is already sweetened.
  • Orange juice adds a natural citrus brightness, but it can be substituted with lemon juice if desired.
  • If you don’t have an ice cream machine, you can freeze the blended mixture in a shallow dish, stirring every 30 minutes until firm to prevent ice crystals.
  • For a vegan alternative, use coconut-based yogurt and adjust sweetness accordingly.
