Praline Crunch is a sweet, buttery, and crispy treat that combines caramelized sugar, buttery goodness, and crunchy nuts. This easy-to-make dessert is perfect for snacking, gifting, or celebrating special occasions, offering a rich, golden flavor and irresistible crunch.

Ingredients

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup pecans or walnuts (chopped or whole, as preferred)

4 cups puffed rice cereal (or Rice Krispies)

1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients: Measure out all your ingredients and set them aside. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Make the praline sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and stir to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for about 3-5 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens slightly.
  3. Add cream and vanilla: Carefully add the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt to the saucepan, stirring constantly. Continue to simmer for another 1-2 minutes until smooth and thick.
  4. Mix the crunch: In a large mixing bowl, combine the puffed rice cereal and chopped nuts. Pour the caramel mixture over the cereal and nuts, stirring gently to coat everything evenly.
  5. Cool the praline crunch: Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it into an even layer. Let it cool for 15-20 minutes to firm up.
  6. Add chocolate drizzle (optional): If desired, melt the chocolate chips and drizzle over the cooled praline crunch for extra indulgence. Let it set for a few minutes.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Once fully set, break the praline crunch into pieces and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container.

Notes

If you prefer a nut-free version, substitute nuts with seeds like sunflower or pumpkin seeds.

Customize the treat by adding dried cranberries or raisins for a tart contrast.
