These No-Bake Oat Bars are a simple, wholesome snack made with just three main ingredients: rolled oats, natural peanut butter, and honey. Perfect for a quick energy boost or a healthy treat, these bars come together easily without any cooking required and set firmly in the refrigerator for a chewy, satisfying texture.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional)

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats and salt (if using). Then add the natural peanut butter and honey. This layering helps evenly distribute the optional salt for enhanced flavor.
  2. Mix Thoroughly: Stir the mixture well until all ingredients are fully incorporated and the oats are evenly coated. The mixture should be sticky and cohesive.
  3. Prepare the Tray: Line an 8×8 or 9×9 inch baking tray with parchment paper. Secure the edges with binder clips to prevent the paper from slipping during the pressing stage.
  4. Press Mixture into Tray: Pour the oat mixture into the prepared tray. Use a spatula to flatten and press it down firmly, removing any air pockets to ensure the bars will hold together once set.
  5. Refrigerate to Set: Place the tray in the refrigerator and chill for 2-3 hours to allow the bars to firm up properly.
  6. Cut and Serve: Once set, lift the mixture out of the tray using the parchment paper. Place on a cutting board and slice into 12 bars or your preferred shapes and sizes. Enjoy immediately or store for later snacking.

Notes

  • If your peanut butter is too thick for mixing, warm it slightly in the microwave for a few seconds to soften it.
  • For added flavor, you can mix in vanilla extract or cinnamon during the mixing stage.
  • These bars can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • To make the bars vegan, substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
  • Pressing the mixture firmly is essential for bars that hold together well.
