A rich, creamy casserole layered with tender shredded chicken, sour cream, cheese, almonds, and a buttery cracker crust. Inspired by the iconic dish from Neiman Marcus Café, it’s upscale comfort food perfect for family meals or gatherings.

Ingredients

4 cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie works well)

1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup

1 cup sour cream

2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

½ cup sliced green onions

½ cup slivered almonds, lightly toasted

1½ tsp hot sauce (adjust to taste)

1 sleeve buttery crackers, crushed

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 °F (190 °C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, Cheddar cheese, green onions, almonds, and hot sauce until well combined.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine crushed crackers and melted butter, then sprinkle over the top of the casserole.
  5. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes until bubbly and golden brown on top.
  6. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use cream of mushroom or celery soup for variation.

Try Monterey Jack or Swiss cheese for a milder flavor.

Add veggies like peas, diced bell peppers, or mushrooms for extra nutrition.

Make nut-free by omitting almonds or using breadcrumbs.
