Ingredients

Chicken and Sliders

  • 24 oz bag of crispy boneless chicken bites or frozen chicken nuggets/bites
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 16 oz jar pickle chips

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp Franks Red Hot hot sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne powder

Garlic Mayo Spread

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Cook the Chicken: Cook the chicken bites in the air fryer or oven as per the package instructions until hot and crispy. This ensures the chicken is perfectly cooked and ready to absorb the sauce flavor.
  2. Prepare the Buns and Spread: While the chicken cooks, slice the Hawaiian slider buns horizontally, keeping them attached if possible. Set the top halves aside. Mix the mayonnaise with garlic powder, then spread this garlic mayo evenly over the bottom halves of the buns to add a creamy, flavorful base.
  3. Make the Hot Honey Butter Sauce and Toss Chicken: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, Franks Red Hot sauce, paprika, and cayenne powder to create a spicy-sweet sauce. Once the chicken is cooked, add it to the bowl and toss thoroughly until every piece is well-coated in the sauce.
  4. Assemble the Sliders: Pile the saucy chicken onto the bottom halves of the buns. Add a generous layer of pickle chips on top of the chicken for tang and crunch. Place the top buns back on and carefully slice the slider tray into individual portions. Serve immediately and enjoy these perfectly balanced sweet, spicy, and savory sliders.

Notes

  • Use frozen chicken bites or nuggets for convenience; adjust cooking time based on your package instructions.
  • If you can’t find Hawaiian rolls, soft dinner rolls make a good substitute.
  • Adjust cayenne and hot sauce quantities to control the heat level to your preference.
  • For extra crispiness, cook chicken bites in an air fryer rather than oven.
  • These sliders are best served fresh but can be refrigerated for up to a day and reheated in the air fryer for crispness.
