Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (skinless, boneless, and cut into bite-sized pieces)

2 tablespoons olive oil (or vegetable oil)

Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

3 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional for extra flavor)

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for a little heat)

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening the sauce)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon: Cut the salmon fillets into bite-sized pieces. Season them with salt and pepper on both sides. Set aside.
  2. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, grated ginger (if using), and red pepper flakes (if using). If you prefer a thicker sauce, dissolve 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in 1 tablespoon of water and add it to the sauce mixture. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Salmon: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon bites to the skillet in a single layer. Cook the salmon for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. The salmon should flake easily with a fork. If cooking in batches, remove the cooked salmon and set aside.
  4. Add the Sauce: Once the salmon bites are cooked, pour the prepared honey garlic sauce into the same skillet. Stir to coat the salmon bites in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and caramelize slightly.
  5. Serve: Remove from heat and serve immediately. Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, or a squeeze of fresh lemon for extra flavor. These honey garlic salmon bites are delicious on their own, or served with rice, noodles, or a salad.

Notes

Spicy Honey Garlic Salmon Bites: Add more red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha to the sauce for a spicy kick.

Add Vegetables: Serve the honey garlic salmon bites with roasted or sautéed vegetables like broccoli, bell peppers, or snap peas for a complete meal.

Honey Garlic Salmon Bowls: Serve these salmon bites over rice or quinoa, and top with veggies, avocado, and a drizzle of the remaining sauce for a flavorful bowl.

Citrusy Twist: Add a tablespoon of orange juice or zest to the sauce for a fresh citrusy kick.
