Honey Butter Cornbread Poppers are bite-sized, golden-baked mini cornbreads brushed with a sweet and buttery honey glaze. Perfect as a side, snack, or appetizer, they offer a delightful mix of sweet, savory, and fluffy textures.

Ingredients

1 box cornbread mix (or homemade equivalent)

1/2 cup milk

2 large eggs

1/4 cup melted butter

1/4 cup honey (optional)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for glaze)

2 tablespoons honey (for glaze)

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional, for glaze)

Pinch of salt (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini muffin tin or popper pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cornbread mix with milk, eggs, melted butter, and honey (if using) until smooth.
  3. Spoon the batter into the mini muffin tin, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
  4. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  6. In a small bowl, stir together melted butter, honey, cinnamon (if using), and salt for the glaze.
  7. While the poppers are still warm, brush the tops generously with the honey butter glaze.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

Add cheddar cheese or jalapeños to the batter for a savory or spicy variation.

Use homemade cornbread batter if preferred—just adjust for yield.

Brush glaze just before serving for best texture and flavor.

To make gluten-free, use a certified gluten-free cornbread mix.

Substitute maple syrup for honey if desired.
