Ingredients

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon active dry yeast

1/2 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup warm water

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup pizza or marinara sauce

1/4 cup pepperoni slices, chopped (optional)

1/4 cup sliced olives (optional)

1/4 cup bell pepper, finely chopped (optional)

1/4 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)

1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a larger bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Let rise in an oiled bowl, covered, for 1 hour.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment or grease.
  4. Punch down risen dough and divide into 6 pieces. Flatten each into a 4–5 inch circle.
  5. Spread 1 tbsp of sauce in the center, add 2 tbsp cheese, and desired toppings. Fold into half-moons and seal edges tightly.
  6. Place on baking sheet. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle garlic powder if using.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool a few minutes before serving.
