Perfect for making cozy chai lattes or dirty chai espresso drinks.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened instant tea
  • 3/4 cup powdered French Vanilla non-dairy coffee creamer
  • 3/4 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk powder

Spices

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (5 grams)
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons ground cardamom (5 grams)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cloves (5 grams)
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons ground white pepper (3 grams)
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons ground ginger

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients and spices thoroughly. Stir well to ensure even distribution of the sugars, instant tea, creamers, and spices.
  2. Blend to Fine Powder: Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor. Blend until it becomes a fine, consistent powder. This will help the mix dissolve easily in hot liquids.
  3. Store Properly: Pour the blended chai latte mix into an airtight jar or container. Store it at room temperature and keep it sealed to maintain freshness for up to 5 months.
  4. Prepare Your Drink: To make a chai latte, add 2 to 3 tablespoons of the mix to approximately 10 ounces of hot water, milk, or brewed black tea in a mug. Stir well to combine.
  5. Optional Dirty Chai: For a dirty chai latte, simply add 2 shots of espresso to the prepared chai latte for an extra caffeine kick and richer flavor.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of spices to make the chai latte more or less spicy according to your preference.
  • Use hot water for a lighter chai or milk for a creamier texture.
  • The mix can also be added to brewed black tea for a traditional chai flavor.
  • Ensure the container is airtight to maximize shelf life and prevent moisture from clumping the powder.
  • Use non-dairy creamers if lactose intolerant or prefer a vegan-friendly option.
