Frozen yogurt is a healthier, lighter alternative to ice cream, made with yogurt, honey, and fruit. It’s creamy, customizable, and perfect for a refreshing treat.

Ingredients

2 cups plain Greek yogurt (or regular yogurt for a milder taste)

1/2 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

1/2 cup fruit puree (such as strawberry, blueberry, or mango, optional)

Pinch of salt (optional, to enhance flavor)

Instructions

  1. Combine the Yogurt and Sweetener: Mix the yogurt and honey (or maple syrup) in a medium bowl until smooth. Add vanilla extract if using.
  2. Add the Fruit Puree (Optional): Blend your fruit into a puree and stir it into the yogurt mixture for flavor.
  3. Chill the Mixture: Place the yogurt mixture in the fridge for 30 minutes to chill.
  4. Freeze the Yogurt: If using an ice cream maker, churn the mixture for 15-20 minutes. Without an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a shallow dish and freeze for 3-4 hours, stirring every 30 minutes until it’s smooth and frozen.
  5. Serve: Scoop the frozen yogurt into bowls or cones. Enjoy immediately for soft-serve or freeze for firmer texture.
  6. Optional Toppings: Add fresh fruit, granola, nuts, or chocolate chips as desired.

Notes

For variations, try adding other fruits like mango, raspberry, or chocolate for different flavors.

Use honey or agave for a natural sweetener alternative.

Minty frozen yogurt can be made by adding mint leaves to the mixture, then straining.
