Crispy Air Fryer Apple Fries are a healthier dessert or snack made from fresh apples coated in a crunchy cinnamon-sugar crust and air-fried to perfection. Enjoy them warm with your favorite dip like caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt.

Ingredients

2 large apples (Granny Smith, Fuji, or Honeycrisp), cored and sliced into 1/4-inch fries

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

1 egg, beaten

2 tablespoons sugar (for coating)

1 tablespoon cinnamon (for coating)

Cooking spray (for air frying)

Optional: Caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Slice apples into 1/4-inch fries, keeping skins on if desired for added texture.
  3. Set up breading station: mix flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in one bowl; place beaten egg in another; panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  4. Coat apple slices in flour mixture, dip in egg, then coat in breadcrumbs. Press to adhere crumbs.
  5. Place coated apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
  6. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  7. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Toss hot apple fries in this mixture immediately after air frying.
  8. Serve warm with caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt if desired.

Notes

Use tart or sweet apples based on your flavor preference.

For extra crunch, use panko instead of regular breadcrumbs.

Add shredded coconut to breadcrumbs for a tropical variation.

Store leftovers in fridge for up to 2 days; reheat in air fryer for crispiness.

Can be baked in oven at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes if no air fryer available.
