Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce is a rich, velvety sauce that combines the bold flavors of garlic, the savory depth of Parmesan cheese, and a luscious creamy texture. It’s perfect for pasta, chicken, vegetables, or as a dip for breadsticks or fries.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (preferably fresh)

1 tablespoon cream cheese (optional, for extra creaminess)

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  2. Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a simmer. Stir occasionally and let it cook for about 3-5 minutes, allowing the cream to thicken slightly.
  3. Reduce the heat to low, and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and cream cheese (if using). Stir continuously until the cheese melts into the sauce, and the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
  4. Taste the sauce and season with salt and pepper to your liking. Add Italian seasoning for an extra flavor boost, if desired.
  5. Once the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency, remove it from the heat. Serve immediately over pasta, chicken, vegetables, or as a dip, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

This sauce is best served fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.

If the sauce thickens too much upon cooling, simply reheat and add a splash of milk or cream to loosen it up.

For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper when simmering the cream.

If using pre-grated Parmesan, consider adding a little extra cheese for the best flavor.
