Cottage Cheese Chips are a crispy, savory snack made by baking thinly sliced cottage cheese mixed with seasonings. These chips offer a healthier, protein-packed alternative to traditional potato chips, perfect for dipping, snacking, or adding to salads.

Ingredients

1 cup cottage cheese (preferably full-fat or 2% for best texture)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh herbs or dried herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, or oregano) – optional, for garnish

1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for extra crispness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
  3. Spoon small dollops of the cottage cheese mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Use the back of a spoon to gently flatten each mound into a thin, even layer.
  4. For extra crispiness, lightly brush the tops of the chips with olive oil.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges of the cottage cheese chips turn golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the chips from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. They’ll become even crispier as they cool.
  7. Optional: Sprinkle fresh or dried herbs over the chips before serving for added flavor.
  8. Serve the Cottage Cheese Chips on their own or with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra crispiness, ensure that the cottage cheese mixture is spread thinly. You can also increase the baking time slightly, but be careful not to burn them.

Substitute Parmesan cheese with Asiago or Pecorino for a different flavor profile.

If using low-fat cottage cheese, the chips may not be as crispy or flavorful as when using full-fat cottage cheese.

Store leftover chips in an airtight container for up to 3 days. They may lose some crispiness over time.

For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the mixture.
