Cinnamon Sugar Air Fryer Banana Chips are a healthier, crispy snack made from ripe bananas, coated in a sweet cinnamon-sugar mixture, and cooked in the air fryer. These chips are perfect for snacking, topping oatmeal, or adding to smoothies with minimal ingredients and quick prep time.

Ingredients

For the banana chips:

2 ripe bananas

1 tablespoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon coconut oil (or other cooking oil)

For optional variations:

Chocolate drizzle (dark chocolate)

Honey instead of sugar

Pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder

Maple syrup instead of sugar

Ground nutmeg or apple pie spice

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas and slice them into 1/8-inch thick pieces.
  2. Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.
  3. Lightly brush the banana slices with coconut oil on both sides.
  4. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the banana slices, making sure they are evenly coated.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry in batches if necessary.
  7. Air fry for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Keep a close eye to avoid burning.
  8. Let the banana chips cool for a few minutes. They will crisp up further as they cool.
  9. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days.

Notes

For a more indulgent treat, drizzle with melted chocolate after air frying.

Substitute honey or maple syrup for a different sweetness profile.

Add nuts or seeds for extra crunch and texture.
