Chicken Tortellini Alfredo is a creamy, comforting dish featuring tender chicken, pillowy tortellini, and a rich Alfredo sauce, perfect for a cozy family dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients

2 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless

1 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 cups heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 tbsp butter

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 package of cheese tortellini (about 9 oz)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Cook chicken for 6-7 minutes per side, until golden brown and fully cooked. Set aside to rest before slicing into strips or cubes.
  2. In a separate pot, cook the tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet used for the chicken, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic powder and onion powder, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring well. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Add Parmesan cheese to the skillet, stirring until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  6. Add the cooked tortellini and sliced chicken to the sauce, tossing gently to coat everything evenly.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

For added flavor, you can add vegetables like broccoli, spinach, or peas to the dish.

For a different take, you can swap the chicken for shrimp or sausage.

To lighten the dish, use half-and-half or milk instead of heavy cream and opt for reduced-fat Parmesan cheese.

If you like it spicy, add red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to the sauce.

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove, adding a splash of milk or cream if needed.
