Ingredients

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons sugar

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/8 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon milk

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 egg yolk

1 tablespoon melted butter

1/2 tablespoon sour cream (optional)

Fresh fruit or whipped cream (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add cream cheese, milk, vanilla extract, and egg yolk to the mug. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add melted butter and sour cream (if using), and stir again until the batter is smooth.
  4. Microwave on high for 60–90 seconds. Start checking at 60 seconds; the cake should be set on top and moist inside.
  5. Let cool for 1 minute, then top with fruit, whipped cream, or sauce if desired, and serve.
