Blackberry Baked Brie is a decadent yet effortless appetizer—warm, creamy cheese topped with tangy blackberry compote and served with crisp bread or crackers. It’s a perfect balance of sweet, tart, and savory in every melty bite.

Ingredients

8 oz wheel of Brie cheese

1 cup fresh or frozen blackberries (plus extra for garnish)

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon grated orange zest (optional)

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Crackers, toasted baguette slices, or crostini for serving

Optional garnish: fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs, chopped nuts (e.g. pecans or walnuts)

Instructions

  1. Preheat to 350 °F (175 °C). Line a small oven-safe dish or baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, gently toss blackberries with honey or maple syrup, lemon juice, orange zest, and cinnamon.
  3. Place the Brie wheel on the lined sheet. Spoon the blackberry mixture over the top, letting some berries spill over the sides.
  4. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the Brie is gooey and the compote is bubbling.
  5. Remove from oven. Scatter extra fresh berries, herbs, or chopped nuts on top. Serve warm with crackers, baguette, or crostini.

Notes

Use thawed and drained frozen blackberries to avoid excess moisture.

Scoring the Brie rind lightly can help it melt more evenly.

For a dairy-free version, use vegan Brie and maple syrup.

Customize with herbs, nuts, or alternative fruits for different flavor profiles.

Reheat gently to preserve texture and flavor.
