Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower is a crispy, spicy, and flavorful plant-based alternative to traditional buffalo wings. The cauliflower florets are coated in a tangy buffalo sauce and air-fried to crispy perfection, creating a light, healthy, and satisfying snack or side dish.

Ingredients

1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into florets

1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour for a gluten-free option)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup water (or plant-based milk for a richer texture)

1/2 cup buffalo sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 tablespoon olive oil (optional for extra crispiness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and water (or plant-based milk) to make a batter.
  4. Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter and place it in the air fryer basket, ensuring the florets are not overcrowded. Cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Air fry for 15-18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the cauliflower is crispy and golden brown.
  6. Remove the cauliflower from the air fryer and toss it in buffalo sauce. Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping and garnish with parsley or celery sticks if desired.

Notes

For extra crispiness, lightly spray the cauliflower with olive oil before air frying or toss it in oil before cooking.

This recipe is vegan-friendly, but you can serve it with a dairy-free ranch or blue cheese dip for a plant-based option.

Add a pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes to the batter for extra heat.

For a gluten-free version, use chickpea flour instead of regular flour.

For a sweet and spicy variation, mix honey or maple syrup into the buffalo sauce before tossing the cauliflower.
