This 5-Minute Creamy and Fiery Vegan Queso is a quick, delicious, and dairy-free cheese alternative made with raw cashews and vibrant spices. Perfect for dipping or drizzling, this easy vegan queso blends creamy texture with a fiery kick, making it an ideal snack or appetizer for anyone craving a flavorful plant-based cheese sauce.

Ingredients

Vegan Queso Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 3/4 cup hot water (plus splashes more if needed)
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Gather all ingredients including raw cashews, hot water, nutritional yeast, garlic, and spices to have them ready for blending.
  2. Blend Mixture: Add cashews, hot water, nutritional yeast, garlic, chili powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and hot sauce to a high-speed blender. Blend until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy. Use a tamper to push down ingredients if blending gets stuck.
  3. Adjust Consistency: If the queso is too thick or not blending smoothly, gradually add up to 1/4 cup more hot water in small splashes until desired creamy texture is achieved.
  4. Serve: Pour the creamy vegan queso into a bowl and serve immediately as a dip for chips or a sauce for your favorite dishes.

Notes

  • Soaking cashews for a few hours or overnight can make blending easier and result in a creamier texture, but is optional.
  • Adjust chili powder and hot sauce quantity according to your spice preference.
  • Use a high-speed blender for best results; a regular blender may require longer blending.
  • This queso is best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
